Sometimes we know where we want to go but can’t find the roads to get us there. Other times, we have a vague idea of a goal and need to clarify just what it is we are trying to achieve. Still other times we feel lost, as though drifting without purpose, and we need someone to support us in identifying what’s missing from our lives. In all of these cases (and many other similar situations), coaching may be the best fit for you.
Life Coaches serve the basic function of helping you to be clear on your goals and finding the best ways to achieve them. Some coaches specialize in specific areas such as health, business, or career, while others are more generalized in their approach. At Third Eye Family Solutions, Dr. Jen is certified as a Life Coach and can give coaching in many areas of your life. All good counselors and therapists, like Jen & Jaime, use elements of coaching in their counseling as well.
Coaches use many kinds of tools to help you. These are some of Jen’s favorites – you can use these on your own or work with her for more support.
Goal Setting Worksheet
This is a worksheet that was compiled from several sources and put together to help you clarify your goals. Each question allows you to look more deeply at what you want to achieve as how you will go about achieving it. Often people set goals without any plan to achieve them, or without thinking through what it might take to get where they are going. This set of questions will give you a better platform from which to start moving towards a goal.
Are You TOO Comfortable?
Another adaptation from some coaching materials, this worksheet gives you a quick glance at your comfort in life. As the sheet says, we all need time to relax, reflect, and rest, but at times we can also become complacent and need a little nudge to get things moving in a healthy direction. Believe it or not, being uncomfortable can be a good thing! It means you are growing and changing. It can also mean that something miraculous is just around the corner.
Hopes and Dreams
This free worksheet comes from Destiny’s Odyssey, a website that supports people in growing and achieving their dreams. If you feel like you are ready for SOMETHING, but you aren’t sure quite what, this might be a great place to start! The worksheet asks questions that get you thinking about your dreams, things you have always wanted to do, and ways to start moving towards achieving those things.
Values Worksheet
You may be someone who is clarifying what your values are before you can align action with value. This checklist is a way to discover what you value most in life. It was taken from Infinite North Counseling in Washington state and will leave you with a good sense of where your values lie.
There are many more tools that can help you in life if coaching is what you need most, but it is our hope that these ‘freebies’ will get you pointed in the right direction. If you find yourself wanting more support, we welcome your calls and emails. Enjoy the road ahead!
